Statement of Faith

Legacy Church holds to a conservative theological position, affirming the historical and orthodox doctrines of the Christian faith as revealed in Scripture. We believe in the absolute authority and sufficiency of the Bible, uphold a biblical sexual ethic, and maintain traditional views on marriage, gender, and the sanctity of life. We reject any cultural trend that seeks to redefine core Christian beliefs. Our commitment is to stand firm on God's truth while walking in love and grace.

The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is the final rule for faith, life, and doctrine, revealing God's redemptive plan and the hope of His coming Kingdom.

The Nature of God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, sovereign over all creation, and unchanging in His perfect nature.

Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, was crucified for our sins, and bodily rose from the dead on the third day (John 1:1-14, Philippians 2:5-11, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4). He ascended into heaven and will return to establish His Kingdom in righteousness and glory. He is the radiance of the glory of God, the exact representation of the Father's nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. (Hebrews 1:3)

The Doctrine of Humanity
We believe God created humanity in His image, male and female, with inherent dignity, value, and purpose (Genesis 1:26-27). Mankind was made for fellowship with God and one another, created to reflect His glory. Though humanity has been marred by sin, every person retains the image of God and deserves to be treated as such.

The Doctrine of Sin
All people are born with a sinful nature and choose to sin, alienating themselves from God (Psalm 51:5, Romans 3:23). Sin manifests in brokenness, pain, rebellion, and unbelief. Sin destroys, corrupts, and perverts His creation and the people He so loves. Therefore, God rightly and justly punishes all sin (Romans 6:23). Yet, through Christ, our punishment is taken, and our redemption and restoration are secured (Romans 5:8-9, 1 John 1:9).

Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). Every person is born in sin and separated from God, but through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, we are justified, reconciled, and adopted as children of God (Romans 3:23-24, John 1:12-13).

The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person, coequal with the Father and the Son. He indwells every believer, sealing them for the day of redemption and producing in them the work of sanctification (Ephesians 1:13-14, 2 Corinthians 3:18). He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and empowers believers with spiritual gifts for the edification of the Church (1 Corinthians 12:4-11). He leads us into all truth, enabling us to live in obedience and holiness (John 16:13, Galatians 5:16-25).

The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, a city on a hill that cannot be hidden, shining as a witness to the world (Matthew 5:14-16). There is only one Church, made up of all who belong to Jesus, regardless of location or time in history (Ephesians 4:4-6). The Church answers to Jesus as its ultimate authority, for He is the head of the Body (Colossians 1:18). It submits to the Bible for instruction on how to govern and operate, as the Scriptures provide everything needed for sound doctrine, leadership, worship, and mission (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Acts 2:42-47).

The Christian Life
We believe Christians are called to live holy, Spirit-led lives, bearing spiritual fruit and walking in obedience to Christ (John 15:1-8, Galatians 5:22-25). The life of a disciple includes suffering, perseverance, and continual transformation into the image of Christ (Romans 5:3-5, 2 Corinthians 3:18). For the Christian, we strive to live, act, think and love like Jesus and when we fall short of this glorious standard, we confess, repent and continue to fight the good fight of faith.

Eschatology
We believe in the return of Jesus Christ to establish the fullness of His Kingdom, fulfilling the promises of Scripture (Matthew 24:30-31, Revelation 19:11-16). We hold to Historic Premillennialism, anticipating a literal return of Christ before His eternal reign (Revelation 20:1-6), though we recognize there is much debate on this topic.
